The 0–3 age stage is a crucial period in a child’s development, both cognitively and emotionally, as well as socially and linguistically. During these early years, the brain demonstrates remarkable plasticity, making this the optimal time for language acquisition, particularly for learning a second language in a natural way.

Early exposure to a second language allows children to absorb it intuitively, in the same way they acquire their mother tongue: through play, listening, repetition and daily interaction. This process does not require conscious effort; instead, it occurs spontaneously, fostering more accurate pronunciation and stronger comprehension from a very early age.

At Baby Erasmus, we believe that English should not be taught as a separate subject, but rather used as a tool for communication. For this reason, English is our vehicular language throughout the day, naturally integrated into all activities and routines, always adapted to each child’s age and individual pace.

In addition to linguistic development, this stage is essential for the acquisition of habits, values and social skills. Children begin to interact with their peers, share, take turns, express emotions and adapt to an environment beyond the family setting. All of this takes place in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment, where each child’s emotional well-being is a priority.

Learning at this stage is primarily based on play and exploration, which are essential for fostering curiosity and motivation. Through engaging, dynamic and sensory activities, children explore the world around them while developing autonomy, coordination and creativity.
